Halo Jewel by Martín Azúa was named best contract pendant light. As its name suggests, Halo presents light as a precious ornament. Available in circular or linear styles, the spare silhouettes are suspended by a length of slender, artisan-crafted metal like a delicate bijou on a necklace. Steel armature surrounds the LED-powered light source, enhancing the lamp’s ornamental look and setting off the minimalist form like a jewelry setting. Arik Levy’s Sticks also won an Architizer’s A+ product award in the category of decorative and free-standing lighting. Pure and graphic, Sticks offers a creative toolkit for integrating light elements in an interior. The collection features glowing aluminum rods that rotate on their own axis to direct light precisely where needed. It creates and disrupts architectural planes and transforms linear light into floating sculpture. Additionally, Sticks was selected for The Architect’s Newspaper 2021 Best of Product Award. Jurors gave the collection top honors in the architectural, commercial lighting, and electrical category. A fusion of technology, space, and architecture, the rotatable metal rods can be connected from wall to wall, floor to wall, wall to ceiling or suspended from the ceiling. “Vibia’s Sticks luminaire stands out in its scale and proportions and how ‘architectural’ it can be,” according to one of the judges. “Add it to a room and it will completely transform the ambiance.” © Fran Silvestre Arquitectos Architectural SSL magazine, which covers lighting’s impact on architectural design, gives out Product Innovation Awards each year that recognize innovative LED and solid-state luminaires on the market. Vibia’s Structural was the winner in the category of Lighting/Electrical. Designed by Arik Levy, the wall lamp features simple cubic forms that integrate like a piece of sculpture into the architecture of a space. Enclosed in aluminum boxes, they pair with metal rods that both join and separate the volumes, a deconstructed design that creates point of light in a space.
