Freedom of composition at a designer’s fingertips through a malleable lighting rail that embodies a timeless aesthetic and offers endless applications. A versatile and adaptable design that encompasses an array of lighting solutions designed to stand the test of time while effortlessly flowing through space. From residential properties to hospitality, restaurants or workplace environments, Plusminus offers a solution tailored to each project, regardless of its nature. With its textile tape featuring an integrated electrical conductor and interchangeable parts, it traces outlines that adapt to the geometry of each space, harmonising with the interior architecture, defining areas and connecting premises, never overlooking its essential purpose: to provide lighting solutions that are both flexible and precise. This design by Diez Office comes in an array of muted and neutral shades selected from Vibia’s colour palette, becoming an indisputable ally for every project. Plusminus provides a comprehensive response to the lighting requirements of each space, balancing timeless aesthetics and functionality, while providing a sense of flow that connects environments, adapting to different settings and usage. The poetic and functional component inherent in light and its ability to shape interior design is fully revealed with Plusminus. This system, as versatile as it is elegant, adds a touch of personality while allowing light to merge seamlessly into a project’s own narrative. Following the eco-design principles that guide product development at Vibia, Plusminus also implements conscious design — conceived to evolve with architecture and keep pace with the lifespan of each project. Its flexible tape can be installed taut or slack, fitting precisely to the geometry of the space, while its dimmable luminaires, compatible with remote control devices, ensure efficient use of light. Added to this is a responsible product design, complete with repairable parts and materials selected to offer durability and optimal performance over time. A collection that not only illuminates the present, but also shines a light on the future outcome of every space. This versatility translates into a wide variety of project-based solutions. Plusminus seamlessly integrates into a range of different residential projects, from single-storey apartments to multi-level dwellings —as seen in the present examples—. The system also proves its adaptability in the contemporary workplace, designed according to modern-day office dynamics featuring collaborative spaces, social areas, and shared workstations. Finally, its presence in hospitality projects shows how light can clearly define areas and guide circulation paths with apparent ease, while framing warm and intimate corners, in harmony with the space as a whole. This capacity for adaptation and engagement with architecture is particularly evident in residential projects, where light enhances the spatial experience in an organic way. For this house in Utrecht, architect Joost Woertman opted for a Plusminus configuration that unfolds with sculptural mastery, creating a dialogue with the dual-height geometry. Using a vertical pathway, the system structures the space and breaks it up into a series of microenvironments, lending warmth and a sense of continuity across the different levels. In another residential project by A&P Interiorisme, in Sabadell, the collection takes on a more everyday, functional tone. The lighting follows the rhythm of the day’s activities and domestic uses, creating a sense of comfort and continuity between living spaces. Once again, Plusminus adapts effortlessly to the existing architecture, illustrating that the same system is capable of delivering vastly different design solutions according to context. Plusminus is a real asset when it comes to contract environments and office projects in particular, which require flexible, interconnected interiors. At Sauvage TV’s headquarters in Barcelona, designed by Vania Gaetti, the system plays a role in arranging shared spaces to encourage collaboration and interaction, supporting the changing dynamics of work. Lighting is thereby adjusted to suit different activities, providing brightness and comfort in each area. Multidisciplinary design studio Il Magma opted for fluid lighting to connect two functionally distinct spaces in its Reggio Emilia office. All the lighting in each room is connected to a single electrical connection point, overcoming the added challenge of not interfering with the ceiling’s distinctive architecture. Functional lighting was chosen for the office area to ensure visual comfort at the workstations, while the adjoining multipurpose room features more decorative diffused lighting provided by hanging spheres. The Polestar space in Vienna stems from the comprehensive approach of BWM Designers & Architects, to which Plusminus brings continuity and coherence in a mixed-use space concept. With its black-edged aesthetic, the arrangement of the straps and luminaires provides a stylish way to define the different areas, aligning with the venue’s industrial past. Other hybrid spaces, such as this restaurant and co-working facility integrated into the Arsenal Femenino gym’s communal area in Barcelona, are also fitted with Plusminus lighting, as interpreted by Ferruz Studio in a welcoming and balanced style. Here, the raw setting is softened by cosy, enveloping lighting, chosen in a warm terracotta tone to match the furniture. As it unfurls, Plusminus creates pockets of intimacy through pendant lighting that draw attention to the tables. Moving from the private sphere to the public environment, Plusminus offers a casual, functional and conscientious approach to lighting. Diez Office skillfully brings together a number of factors for Vibia in a balanced exercise of technical innovation, sustainability and creative freedom. A system that’s constantly reimagined with each project and is geared toward the future, integrating seamlessly into architecture and able to evolve alongside it over time.
